Before applying Colour Crete™ Satin Finish to concrete or masonry surfaces, sweep or brush to remove debris.  Surface to be treated should be clean and free of grease and oil. Water applied to the surface of untreated concrete should soak in easily.  If efflorescence (salt stain) is present, remove with a quality, environmentally safe product such as Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher.  Rinse surface to be treated thoroughly with water and allow to dry fully before applying Colour Crete™ Satin Finish.  Concrete previously stained with Colour Crete™ should be allowed to cure for 24 hours prior to application.

Concrete can cure for up to six months after the initial pour.  During this time, moisture is released as the concrete densifies.  Allow at least 30 days from initial pour for moisture to evolve and surface to appear uniform.  Excess moisture at the time of application will affect penetration of the finish as well as the consistency of the final effect.

Test

Prior to application, Colour Crete™ Satin Finish should be tested to determine satisfaction with final appearance.  Test on a small, inconspicuous area and allow to dry fully.  Wet surfaces appear darker.  Final appearance should be evaluated after product dries fully.  Colour Crete™ Satin Finish will create a soft sheen that will enhance the appearance of stained or unstained concrete surfaces.

Colour Crete™ Satin Finish should be applied using a brush, roller, or pump sprayer.  Do not allow Colour Crete™ Satin Finish to pool on the surface.  Brush excess material into more porous areas until Colour Crete™ Satin Finish has penetrated the treated surface.  Coverage will vary between 100 and 200 square feet per gallon, depending on the porosity of the concrete and the condition of the surface (rough or unstained surfaces will use more product).  Apply only above 50˚ F and below 90˚ F.
