How
to Apply Preserva Crete™
Follow these simple steps to easy application of Preserva
Crete™ (for a printer-friendly
version of this page, click
here):
Preparation
Proper surface preparation is essential to achieve maximum
product performance! Surface must be porous prior to application
of Preserva Crete™.
To check for porosity in any given area, a single drop
of water should be readily absorbed. Any previous coatings
or efflorescence (salt bleed from mortar or grout) must
be removed with a concrete cleaner or sandblasting. The
surface must be free of dirt, oil, grease and other foreign
objects prior to application of Preserva Crete™.
Rinse well after using cleaning chemicals and allow surface
to dry thoroughly before applying Preserva Crete™.
Tip: Consider using our Preserva
Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher before
treating, to make sure your concrete is properly prepared. Preserva
Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher is
the safer, water-based alternative to other products
using strong acids and corrosive solutions. It’s
simple and easy to use, allowing you to thoroughly clean
just about any textured or bare concrete or masonry surface
in an environmentally-responsible fashion. Click

COVERAGE
The porosity of your concrete or masonry surface can vary
over a broad range. Coverage will vary from approximately
100 to 200 square feet per gallon, depending on the surface
and its condition.
|
Application
Do not thin, ready to use as is! Shake or stir before
using. Apply a small amount of Preserva Crete™ in
an inconspicuous area and allow to dry in order to
insure your satisfaction with the final appearance. The
product should be applied evenly over the entire surface
with a pump sprayer, brush, or roller.
Do not allow Preserva Crete™ to
puddle on surface. Brush excess into areas that absorb material
faster. Only one coat of Preserva Crete™ is
necessary for best results. Do not over-apply. Apply Preserva
Crete™ in the cool of the
day. Do not apply product to a hot surface, or in the heat
of the day. Penetration and final performance will be effected.
