Allow concrete to cure at least 30 days from initial pour before using Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher. Excess moisture at application time will affect the ability of stains to penetrate and paints to bond. One gallon should clean between 100 – 200 sq. ft., depending on the texture of the surface and the amount of cleaning necessary.

Sweep dirt/debris away with stiff bristle broom – do not use water for this initial prep.  Tools you’ll need: stiff bristle brush or broom (synthetic); garden hose with pressure nozzle; pump sprayer (optional); 120-grit sandpaper (for smooth concrete); gloves; goggles; boots.

Apply Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher to dry concrete and allow to penetrate for at least 20 minutes. Caution – surface may be slippery with wet; walk with care; use proper protective clothing during application (rubber gloves, long pants, closed toe shoes, and eye protection).  Do not allow Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher to dry on surface. Apply additional solution to areas that soak in faster and begin to dry. Scrub surface with stiff bristle brush or broom. Product will foam during the cleaning and etching process.

Once clean, RINSE THOROUGHLY with fresh water using a garden hose with pressure nozzle, ensuring that all Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher solution and concrete residue have been rinsed away. Only apply at temperatures 50°F – 90°F. All tools/equipment should be cleaned and rinsed thoroughly with cold water before they dry.

Once concrete is completely dry, check to see that all efflorescence, oil, and other contaminants have been removed. Check concrete’s texture to make sure it is at least as rough as 120-grit sandpaper (especially important with smooth concrete). Repeat application process until you achieve desired results over entire surface.

During the cleaning process, wear water resistant gloves, boots, and goggles for eye protection. Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact, flush eyes or skin with fresh water until all Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher is removed. Product may be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water and seek immediate medical attention. Do not mix with bleach. Store unused material in sealed plastic container in a secure area away from children. After proper use, Preserva Crete™ Cleaner & Etcher thoroughly rinsed from concrete or masonry surfaces will not harm plants, animals, or pool water.
