What’s up at Preserva Products™

We are very excited and thrilled about the recent introduction of our new Colour Crete™ product line. Concrete is now very fashionable when it comes to using it for a whole host of landscaping  and outdoor home improvement projects. Who would have thought that boring old concrete would become, very suddenly, a canvas for customizing and beautifying your home?

We’ve also recently improved our Preserva Wood® product line in two ways:

(1) it is now fully VOC compliant; and
(2) just one coat does it! So if you have not tried any of our wood preservative and/or cleaner products of late, now’s the time.

Speaking of time . . . our hope with this new Web site is to continue to share with you, in a timely fashion, additional newsworthy items, tidbits, and information about our products and services. So please check this page again soon.

Here at Preserva Products, we are very excited about the introduction of our newest product line, Colour Crete™ concrete stain.  Concrete and other porous masonry surfaces have become popular landscape design features in the last couple of years.  Many homeowners have had new concrete patios and pool decks poured which include some form of pigment or color.  Adjacent concrete patios and walkways appear pale, dirty, or simply outdated by comparison.  With Colour Crete™ concrete stain, you have the ability to add color and dimension to these older surfaces.  For those of you who are artistic, there are opportunities to blend color and texture in ways that are not only visually appealing, but will truly increase the value of your most significant asset, your house!

Colour Crete™ was formulated as a water based system for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that water does an excellent job of penetrating into concrete and unsealed masonry surfaces.  This ability to penetrate deeply allows us to deliver specialized polymers and pigments that provide a longer lasting stain.  Colour Crete™ is not water proof and is only mildly water resistant.  We did this so that you can add color, using faux techniques, or even adding a second coat for depth and dimension.  It isn’t necessary to add a water repellant finish, however in areas where freezing occurs, or if the area you treated is fully exposed, it’s probably a good idea (even if you just want it to last longer).  That’s why we also created Satin Finish™!

Satin Finish™ will darken the surface slightly and give it a very soft sheen.  Satin Finish™ has excellent protective properties and contains a blend of polymers and silicate water proofing agents that will make your project water resistant.  And lastly, ending where you will probably begin, we developed our Cleaner & Etcher™ as a safe and easy-to-use product that prepares concrete and masonry surfaces for staining. 

Cleaner & Etcher™ can also be used alone to simply clean and brighten old concrete patios and walkways.  Cleaner & Etcher™ is different from other masonry cleaning products in that it is not an acid.  Instead, we use a special blend of chemicals that, when diluted in rinse water, is not harmful to your surrounding plants and animals and it’s biodegradable.  Cleaner & Etcher™ also does a fantastic job of cleaning efflorescence (salt stains)!  Look around and you will see white streaks running down the front of many beautiful brick and cinder block walls.  These are salts from the block and the grout that wash out in the rain and dry on the surface, scarring it.  These ugly salt stains are easily removed with our Cleaner & Etcher™, restoring your homes beauty and value.  Finish off with our Satin Finish™ or Preserva Crete™ water sealer to protect those surfaces for a longer period of time.
